The Weight We Carry: Mind Over Matter

It’s not always about the weight. It’s about how we carry it. A heavy object isn’t just physics. The mind plays its part, adding or easing the load. What’s weighing you down today? A worry, a regret, or just a bad day?

Sometimes, the trick isn’t to put it down but to carry it differently. Shift your perspective. Find a new balance. After all, the mind can make even the heaviest burden feel lighter—or unbearable. So, how will you carry your weight today? Lighten up.

You might just surprise yourself.

The Market That Moves: Maeklong and Its Famous Train

There are markets, and then there is Maeklong. Fresh seafood, vibrant veggies, neatly stacked produce—all arranged with remarkable precision and unexpected cleanliness for a market of this scale.

But that’s not what pulls in the tourists.

It’s the train. The iconic locomotive that cuts through the market, mere inches away from stalls. The moment arrives—the retractable awnings fold back, baskets are shifted just enough, and in a blink, the train passes. Just as quickly, life resumes.

For the tourist, it’s an unbelievable spectacle. For the locals, it’s routine. And as one vendor put it—with a knowing smile—”publicity.”

Because here, business rolls on, no matter what comes down the tracks.

The Importance of Changing Tracks in Life and Work

There’s always a bit of emotion when you change tracks. A moment of hesitation. A hop, skip, and jump before you commit.

But changing tracks is necessary. Stay too long on one, and you risk becoming a ‘could have been’ story. The world moves, shifts, reinvents—and so must we.

What tracks are you changing?
How long have you been thinking about it?

Richness comes from diversity—of thought, of experience, of action. Stay rich. Keep moving.

The king stands like a true royal. Regal and lording over his troops. His troops , a tad too ready to take on a similar enemy. Flanked by the powerful and well armed. The battle will happen in the kings name. Under his watch.
When it’s all over, the King, the queen and their army will all fold into an ornate box that sits in patient wait for the battle to end. There are a few other boxes near the ornate box. Those hold other armies with their kings and queens, whose battles are done, and now awaiting a new hand to move them around. “Yea, it’s the same old chessboard”, says the shopkeeper to me. “ But you can play it in style” he shouts. Trying hard to be beat the din of the Cairo market.

That is an argument that takes me in. Yes, we might fight those battles day in and day out. But could we do it with some style? And style could come from grace. Perhaps elegance. A little bit of compassion. Hmm. Wonder what you think.

What battles are you fighting today?

It’s called the ‘Grand Place’, sitting pretty at the heart of Brussels. There is abundance of history to it, and its seen its share of bombs, bruising and resurrection!
Tonight, it glitters with ease as tourists click their selfies and wield powerful lenses to capture it’s majestic arc. This has been a place of trade. Now it is of the ‘touristy’ trade!
Of course, it has some awesome credentials to it. Like it being a UNESCO Heritage site and being voted as the ‘best square in Europe’ in 2010 beating Red Square of Moscow and Place Stanislaus, Nancy, France.
There us something to it. It exudes an air of quite charm. An air that seems to be happy with the way it is and let’s you be the way you are. That is a precious beauty in our time
