The Gribble bores into wood. With many legs and multiple teeth. So, in 2008 as part of the Yarmouth Pier Renovation project, (Yarmouth Pier is a wooden Pier, the longest in the British pIsles), they thought of the Gribble too. As an art installation.

So it sits there. Nothing more than a lump of concrete from behind. Showing its teeth and popping it’s eyes in the front . Its a seat, where you could go and sit atop it too. Perhaps in symbolic victory!

To just stand and watch the wind energise sails as they are unfurled is something indeed.

Reminds me of human potential. That comes all wrapped up. It requires some unfurling to go a good distance
The Isle Of Wight reminds you of many things in its own unique way.

The Chairlift to the sea! It is one heck of a chair and a hullava lift! Simple sheet and straightforward. Yet it offers some incredible sights to savour
Like the waves rushing to a multi coloured shore, with the wind blowing freely and the Needle Point watching it all in stoic silence!

I was told the Olympic torch for the London Olympics made its way up via the Chairlift! The torch indeed goes places, I must say!

Perhaps it was the effect of Tennyson whose home this place housed. Freshwater Bay, Isle Of Wight.
It was a spectacular sunset. The fact that there was Sun was such joy. And then to see this sunset was a huge lottery win!

The Royal Mail Service. In this day and age of super fast connectivity and speed, the Royal Mail founded in the 15th century (in 1516, 499 years ago) and it’s employees have evolved!
Was intrigued by the two wheels and red flaps standing on the driveway. Until the two legs came by and whisked it away.

A sea of boats are moored still. At Lymington. I look at them straining my eyes and furrowing my brow. There are so many of them.
They remind me of several lives. Infinitely powerful and capable. But perpetually moored to a pier.
